Non-GNU/Linux systems often do not ship GNU Make, including instead
some other version.
On these systems, GNU Make is usually installed as 'gmake'.
Hence 'gmake' was probably a reference to GNU Make in this context.
If you are running a GNU/Linux system (most likely since you are posting
to ILUG) simply 'make' should work.
If this is some sort of package dependency problem I have no
suggestions...except perhaps Debian.
