[ILUG] Raid or Rsync?, advice required

[ILUG] Raid or Rsync?, advice required

Putting together a file store box (home),
(It's slow 333 celeron, 256 sdram.)

I looked at the tutorial on http://www.linux.ie/articles/teraserver/.
A bit overkill at the moment,

Which is the easier (newbie angle) to have one of the store
drives\partitions identical to another.
soft raid \rsync, setup, maintenance, (replace a dead drive).

It would mainly store 3d stuff, I have found out thay cdr's can decay.

as yet not sure what distro to play with.

Frank

PS from the net:
"If Microsoft made software that doesn't suck, it would be a vacuum cleaner"
