If the device is aliased as snd-card-0 then it should be the default.
However I do seem to recall reading that there was a bug in that. And that
the order they are read in from the modprobe.conf file determines which
device get loaded first, not the number.
So I'd suggest making your snd-cmipci device aliased as snd-card-0 and to
have it before your other sound device.
