Hi all,
I'm not sure my last post went through, but if it did, then this is the
solution, sort of:
I did not record all the steps but I think I needed to:
root at charzard:/mnt/oldhdd # lvscan
ACTIVE '/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00' [19.69 GB] inherit
ACTIVE '/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02' [36.47 GB] inherit
ACTIVE '/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01' [19.53 GB] inherit
and then:
lvchange -ay /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
But I'm not sure as I did a "clear" before testing it ;-(
Mount now says:
root at charzard:/mnt/oldhdd # mount
/dev/sda1 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 on /mnt/oldhdd type ext3 (rw)
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol02 on /mnt/oldhdd/home type ext3 (rw)
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol01 on /mnt/oldhdd/var type ext3 (rw)
However, e2label was not able to identify the partitions, so trial and
error was in order. Also, I could not fsck the volumes due to :
root at charzard:/mnt/oldhdd # e2fsck /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01
e2fsck 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)
e2fsck: Filesystem has unsupported feature(s) (/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01)
e2fsck: Get a newer version of e2fsck!
I have the latest version from ubuntu update, and the other was FC3. I
have a feeling this is due to selinux. Any suggestions?
Its no big deal, as I plan on copying the files to one partition at a
time, then re-creating each partition.
