I was surprised at how cheap colour laser printers are now, but
disappointed that the 3000cn isn't Linux compatible. I did a bit of
looking on google, and it seems that it might in fact be possible to
use the 3000cn under linux:

Almost all the posts there are by the same person, working out bit by
bit how to use the printer under linux, so hopefully to do the config
with the benefit of that experience would be a bit simpler than it
looks from a first glance through the posts.
Still for the sake of EUR80 more you get PS support on the 3100cn
which should be simplicity to set up with Linux (or almost anything
else).
