I agree, though... it's a worrying trend which doesn't show any signs of
improving. The days of open standards and general purpose computing are
drawing to a close. It was nice to have been around to enjoy it but give
it a year or two and we'll all own locked down appliances, capable only
of processing and document handling we've paid to enjoy.
IE7 only web pages, patented XML doc formats, a new Vista and HDCP
compliant hardware will mean we will all be able to experience things in
the future which we take for granted right now... Hooray!
