Thats a permissions issue so, assuming you can mount the volume.
Try:
mount -t smbfs -o username=someuser,uid=the-uid,gid=the-gid //server/share
/local-mountpoint

No, thats not the problem.
Of course, its its on your HAN, then why not do the reverse, samba server and
doze client?
