Sounds like `/var/lib/dpkg/available' isn't getting generated - try
running `dselect update' as root.
hmm. the weird thing is that I am getting a lot of packages from the univers and multivers. just that unmentionable mc was missing *kicks dirt*. Any idea on the reboot?
