[ILUG] USB stick weirdness

[ILUG] USB stick weirdness

Kevin Philp kevin at cybercolloids.net

I have noticed some weird USB stick behaviour in Mandrake (kde 3.3). If I have
a few sub directories on the USB stick ie

A -
	B -
		C -

When I navigate with konqueror from A to B to C A miraculously reappears in
the bottom subdirectory...with all the subdirectories below that and on and
on ad infinitum. Meanwhile the directory listed in the konqueror navigation
bar just gets longer and longer as it stacks up all the names. I have seen it
on different USB sticks so its not specific topone stick. Also the same stick
on a different Gentoo machine (kde 3.4) works fine.

Anybody know whats going on here?

The USB stick has not been reformatted so probably as a FAT32 file system but
I don't think thats an issue.

Kevin.
