Yes, this is what I was trying to do, thanks.


The -dumpstream solution also worked.

This solution:

 mplayer blah.stream -ao pcm -aofile /dev/stdout | whatever

Gave:

 "ERROR: Input file "(stdin)" is not a supported format"

...which I guess is an oggenc limit.
