If I were to do that how would I be able to post indignant rants on a

Seriously, though... Members of the world-wide sewing cicle such as
myself don't have the sort of time it takes to fire off a mail to the
Met to get these so-called "facts" (you can use facts to prove anything
- facts schmacts!), although some may search Snopes. I don't trust
Snopes myself - generally slanted and poorly researched, just like
everything else out there. I do enjoy The Straight Dope but it's not
dynamic enough to keep up :)

So, top advice there - it's all lies and if you believe it you can wash
your hands by saying "it's all lies anyway!" :)
