Maybe you could run two versions of glibc?  For this to work without breaking 
anything else (as I understand it) you would have to put the older one in a 
non-standard tree, and set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH for only the applications 
requiring/linked against the older version.

It shouldn't be particularly difficult, but is probably quite time-consuming.  
I haven't done it with glibc before btw, so I'm only hypothesizing, and you 
may need to do more.
