Read somewhere (could have been secunia advisories) that this exploit can  
be somewhat avoided in Firefox by configuring it not to use IDN.

Typing in about:config in the address bar yields a phletora of config  
options.
Look for network.enableIDN and setting it to false. You can then test the  
new setting by trying out the example at this page.
