The poll & comments area has always been outside the premium content
system. All the articles are premium content except for those that
appear on the front page of the newspaper or are contained in the
commercial property, residential property, or motors section. "The
Ticket" is all free.

Not of the polls & comments, though that is an idea. You can get RSS
feeds of all the current articles - though they mostly link to premium

P.S. Despite being a Debain fan I have to say I'm very impressed by
the effort SuSe have made to make Oracle 9iR2 easy to install on SLES9
[1], thus bringing ireland.com a little closer to being mostly Linux
powered *grin*
