Viewpoint Media Player seems to be the culprit here (and of course the 
choice to use it).    I personally think that asking for plugins (as 
oppossed to distributing standard content) is a silly idea except when 
you KNOW your target market will be happy and able to do it and will 
require some extra feature you can only provide this way.

That being said, this seems to be simply the 3d showcase for the 
machine, an ad basically, so it doesn't upset me aslong as the content 
is available.   It would be nice if they even put up a screenshot 
slideshow of the 3d demo for people who don't feel like installing a 
"random" plugin (or can't).   It would be nice if there was no reason 
anyone would choose non-standard formats and tools just to run some kind 
of ad.
