Looks like it is complaining about the version of GTK you have installed on
your box. GTK is required by SWT which Eclipse uses to draw windows. I
remember reading about this on this list before, but can't remember how (and
if) it was resolved.
Since you run RedHat 9, which is already a bit older, I would guess you either
need to upgrade the GTK version on your system or migrate to a newer OS
version.
