So, you wouldn't use Fedora (too bleeding edge) but you would use
Gentoo? Or Debian (which Debian? Ok ok, Debian Stable right now just
happens to be mildly recent).
IMHO, I can think of cases where you'd be insane to use CentOS over
Fedora just as much as the other way around.
Further, if you need CentOS cause you want a long-term supportable
server, you're likely quite insane to choose it over RHEL. And if
RHEL is an option, hey, you could choose Solaris - cheaper (no, it's
free if you want) and better for certain things (I'm biased though ;)
).
