if you really want to try debian, look on their site for the net
install cd iso, download and burn it (ca 180MB) and you can install a
full system assuming you have a good internet connection.
i've done this recently and it went very well
otherwise, though i've never used redhat, it and suse should be fine.
Though i think recently their media capabilities are crippled (re mp3,
dvd, etc). But you can find online how to fix this.
