Don't worry. The bitching only started when I dared to question the barking ogre from behind the server.
OK Ok ... I give up! You're right this matter should be closed. Silly when the world of humans is in pure shit, there is work to be done, and I have to wash the windows (or should that be "my open source panes of glass mounted in holes in the walls of the house").

Subject: Re: [ILUG] [way OT] Word 2003 problems...
I just wanted to apologise to anyone I offended with my original email
concerning MS Word 2003 problems last night.
Let me just put this in context...
At the time of posting, I was aware that this might not be the correct
forum. However, I was very very desperate, and I was willing to look
anywhere for help. I had tried for a few hours to resolve the problem, but
to be honest, I was baffled (and to be fair to me, a non-techie, it was a
fairly obscure problem). I didn’t even know where to begin to start looking
for answers to be honest.
I’m sure at least some of you have done something inappropriate under
stress, that in hindsight you were sorry for.
I am hoping this apology will be accepted with good grace. Thanks very much
to those who replied with solutions … it was field codes by the way… and I
hope this topic can now be put to bed peacefully.
p.s. a formal policy on what is and is not acceptible on ILUG might prevent
future problems like this.
