BTW, I'm happy to say that my mutt killfile has had only one non-spammer
in it for years, and that's nobody from ILUG. (It's a guy at my local
LUG over here who's an admirer of the Bush junta and wanted to harangue
me about politics even on Linux lists.)
There was a time when I would sometimes make public reference to
*plonking* people -- when I could do it with at least mildly humourous
effect -- until I figured out that it was an obnoxious and uncivilised
habit. These days, I'd do it silently if at all.
I do heartily _approve_ of killfiles: They're sort of the inverse of
Douglas Adams's babelfish -- a peerless aid to civility.
