Hey Joe, well whata you know, can't believe you don't use your namesake. The editor joe is easy to use and has none of the modal wierdness of vi which I think is equivalent to learning Latin just because you're thinking about ordering a pizza.

Pico is nice and easy too. Vim and emacs are of course more powerful, but have 
steeper learning curves.
