>>>I fought with inkjet printers for a few years with sporadic and limited
>>>success. I gave up last year and bought a postscript capable HP celour
>>>laserjet 2550L for about EUR350. Plugged that in, told CUPS where it was
>>>and forgot about it. Best thing I ever did...

There really does not seem to be a great deal of information about
regarding the development of printer drivers. Im wondering why this
should be? Is it really such a black art?

Ive also come across this on my travels (I realise it is a commercial
product and not FOSS)
http://www.jungo.com/linux.html

So with this and the developers kit from Lexmark is there any possiblity
of developing a printer driver?

Im also wondering would it be possible to use a windows box as a form of
print server and somehow (?SAMBA) route jobs from the Linux box to the
printer via the windows print manager?
