Heh, I'm gonna assume he means send and receive mail from the command
line. In this case type: man mail and press enter. Mutt/Pine and
others will also allow invocation from the CLI. Nasty sort of a way of
doing things though. Are you perchance attempting to use local mail as
a logging tool or are you writing a viral-marketting shell script? If
you give us more information we might actually be able to help you
(unless the latter scenario is true that is).

Heh. Or try obvious google searches. Think about the best subjectline
to use for posts like these and use it as google search criteria. For
example in this instance, instead of "email" try "sending mail
automatically from the command line". Go and google for that, adding
+linux to the end of it and you will find a veritable plethera of
relevant information explaining with pre written scripts exactly what
you want to do. Oh and eh, have you played about with `expect` yet ;)
