[ILUG] Suse 9.3 install problems.

[ILUG] Suse 9.3 install problems.

Hi,
Ok the first problem I had regarding CD not booting was due to this.
I wanted to use a separate drive for the Suse install. However with
the Maxtor 80G as slave on the same IDE cable as the CD drive no cd
boot was possable.
My board is an MSI Neo Platinum with up to date bios so I dont think
it is that. I expect it was the Maxtor Drive.

Juggled around that one anyway.

So the install goes though perfict.. (every time) but after the final
boot I get a black screen and a mouse pointer that I can move around
the screen..
Now I'm a guy that can appreciate minimalism but this is too much.

I'm sure if I knew my way around the command line end of things I
could boot into that and I might be able to figure it out but I'm lost
in there at the moment.

It could be my MSI Nvidia 6800 card. But during the install it picked
it up ok. Everything except the 3D Acceleration.

Any Ideas on what to try next.
I have another Nvidia card. a FX5200 that I have not dug out yet. But
I'd like to not depend on old stock.

Thanks for any Ideas.
