Network Operations Specialist.
Job Specification:
Monitoring, troubleshooting & correcting network and server problems.
Monitoring the network for alarm conditions and responding
appropriately when fault is detected.
Working on Network Operations Center projects, including reporting,
improvement of tools and changes to procedures.
Working with various third parties (Vendors, Network and System
Engineers, Customers) to narrow down problems and achieve resolution.
Clearly and effectively documenting information for communication to
other staff, to open issues and follow up on escalated problems.
Receiving customer trouble tickets from call center staff, analyzing
and taking corrective action.
Ensure records are kept current and accurate. Preparing reports.
Education / Experience
Recent experience in a Cisco, Linux & Windows operating system
environment and utilizing command line tools preferred.
1 to 2 year experience in Tech Support and/or Operations Center preferred.
Be willing to work shift, weekends and be flexible for rotation assignments.
General understanding and experience using various Operations Center
tools such as Databases and Network troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with networking and Internet routing concepts.
Basic understanding of common troubleshooting procedures.
