yes this seems to me also to be the carrying point of the thread

and i think i noted two distinct proposals :

1 - modify the list mailman thingy to add the header if it recognises 
the sender

2 - let users tweak their MUA (mail client) to add a specific header [ 
"X-Genuine-Nerd" being one suggestion ]  and others filter on it

I'm sure we'll find more reasons for and against both.
