Unless I'm mistaken Mambo is simply a PHP/MySQL app. Most php hosts,
assuming they're running a reasonably modern version of PHP, should
support. This assumption does not AFAIK hold true for hosts running
Debian Stable(Debian Stable uses php4.1 Mambo requires php4.2).

Just to help anyone else, who may have more of an answer i got the sys
requirements from the mambo website here:
http://help.mamboserver.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34&Itemid=70

      PHP 4.2.x or above - http://www.php.net
      MySQL 3.23.x or above - http://www.mysql.com
      Apache 1.13.19 or above - http://www.apache.org
