Assuming you've setup you linux box right, if it still wont connect.
It could be the xp box, if its servicePack 2. SP2 has a built in
firewall, which could be blocking it.
I haven't a clue how you configure the firewall in xp, thank god. But
I'm sure there's a control panel applet
