Ah, yet another problem with PC BIOS serial console is that there is
no way to trap back to firmware. So for true 'no-hands' operation you
need to power it from a remote-control power strip or else have a
hardware watchdog to be able to reboot it if the OS has completely
wedged.
Another deficiency which typically does not exist with sane (ie
non-PC) firmware.
