It's based on Debian, so it has all the Debian niceness of having
everything thoroughly thought out, and dependencies which work.
It has a regular release cycle, so things are kept nice and current.
It has excellent hardware detection; has installed out of the box on
everything I've thrown it at (laptops, desktops, servers).
It comes in x86-32, x86-64 and PowerPC variants. Concentrates on these
- faster release and testing than Debian
- wider hardware support than most others
It has pictures of gorgeous models as its login screen and desktop
backgrounds.
