[ILUG] Suggestions for best 64 bit Linux distro?

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I've tried to stay quiet in this whole distro
war thing, but I can't keep it to myself.

Not everyone runs Gentoo, and to imply that people like Proinnsias and Paul
Jakma are not real linux users, or that they lack knowledge of the OS, is
clearly absurd.

While I don't know either of them personally, as a long time subscriber to
this list, it is clear that they know what they're talking about.

As I said, not everyone uses Gentoo, and there are plenty of valid reasons for
this. It would be insane to run it on a production server, particularly if
you've been messing with flags. You never know when that'll come back to bite
you in the ass.

I still haven't figured out what niche it fills, other than for people who
want to play around with compiler flags, and compile everything themselves.

On any computer where you need the space/memory/extra cpu cycles, what the
hell are you running X for anyway?

Ok, I realise this has deteriorated into a rant, so sorry to anyone who has
actually read this far.
