Dear Outmoded Theistic Concept On A Crutch! (tm)

I'd have expected better.

It's seems like we've managed to run the whole gamut of the flame war 
including the old favourites of ad-hominem, the straw man, appeals to 
authority, "ownership" of the ball, condescension, name calling and so on.

And on.

And on.

Multiple distributions exist because people want different things from 
them.

If it pleases Tom to periodically rebuild the entire system from scratch 
that's his affair, and if Dick likes to use Ubuntu and thinks it's the 
bee's knees that's fine too, but that's no excuse for them to harangue 
each other and Harry who just wants to get on with it about how their 
choice is the one true way and that any other choice is wrong, stupid and 
incompetent.

What I choose to run on my desktop is up to me. What you choose is up to 
you.

What gets on production servers should be chosen with an eye to 
maintainability and whether it fills the requirements for which it is to 
be used, and whether other people can pick up the thread if you are not 
available to run the systems.

IMNSHO an experienced sysadmin really shouldn't give a flying f*ck what 
somebody else runs on their desktops and servers, so long as I don't have 
to deal with it.

The comparison to the doof-doof mob is grimly appropriate.
Which is worse, the barely ex-teen in the tarted up Punto, or the more 
middle-aged guy in a reasonably large family car who insists on racing him?
