Personally... as ignorant as it sounds, I just don't care what the
constitution is about.
Large states like France and Germany can scrap major rules (like the
growth and stability pact)... and choose to weild the axe against
countries like Ireland (over growth and stability and more recently
prohibiting Ireland from giving grants to Intel for development in Leixlip).
Sure, having access to European markets is of benefit to Ireland... the
UK, has the same thing... to my mind political Union, is becoming
tantamount to neo-colonialism.
Reruns of referenda in Ireland when our "democracy" gives
"incorrect/misinformed/Irish/stupid" results.
Abuse, of EU bodies, to prorouge democracy.
One set of rules for large countries like France and Germany... another
set of rules for small countries like Ireland.
Lack of trade barriers = good.
European boys club at the EU.... where (importantly) Ireland doesn't
seem to be one of the boys.... doesn't strike me as the ... best way, to
govern this country... in a union, that is pushing for increasing
indegration.
