Hi,
I am trying to configure a Dell All-in-One A940 for Linux.
All functions work as expected on Windows.
The environment is:
* SuSE Professional 9.0
* kernel 2.4.21-273
* KDE 3.1.4
* cups-1.1.19-100
* USB printer on /dev/usb/lp0
According to linuxprinting.org, cups.org, easysw.com and Google, Dell
A940 is a rebranded Lexmark printer. There are discrepancies regarding
the base model: Z600, Z615, X5150 and X6170.
The websites do not offer any PPD.
easysw.com lists the printer as unsupported.
Apparently the integrated scanner is not supported - sane-project.org
cups shows "Printer State: idle, accepting jobs"
The printer does not react to any command.
The print test page does not output anything, but the result is annoying
"completed at Sun Mar 6 19:53:17 2005"
No lucky with KDEPrint as well.
Has anyone successfully configured it? What is the correct PPD? Where
can I find it? Is there any way to use the scanner?
I may be overlooking or missing something.
All suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
