AFAIK.

NTFS write support is available up to a certain version of NTFS, at 
which point MS changed NTFS a little bit and write support can no longer 
be considered stable.

Actually no, that's wrong.

The bottom line is.. as far as I read it.. read-only is totally 
supported... write support is supported in the following case... 
modification of a file (doesn't) affect the file size.
