Any further insight gratefully received.

I notice that when I logged on this morning I got one DHCPDISCOVER message
on my desktop, and I never got another one even though I've switched
on and off since then.
So it seems to me that the desktop must keep this info somewhere,
and not ask for it again, at least for some time?

I've tried the System Settings=>Network wizard (if you can call it that)
as well as (what is probably the same) system-config-network ,
but none of them seem to help.

I've just got one interface eth0 (plus lo) on my laptop.
I've three on my desktop, but only eth2 (WiFi) is using dhcp .
