On (26/03/05 17:14), Timothy Murphy didst pronounce:
>> eth0 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"maths.tcd.ie" Nickname:"martha"
<munch>
>> eth2 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"[secret]" Nickname:"alfred.murphy.ie"
>Nobody else seemed to spot this, but did you notice that the two ESSID's
are different? Try :
iwconfig eth0 essid [secret]
(replace [secret] here with whatever [secret] is in the iwconfig eth2
output on the desktop) on your laptop, then try getting an IP from DHCP.
Equally, if it still doesn't work, try setting an IP and route manually,
to narrow the problem to either DHCP or network.
