You could do this at much lower cost by mounting a strong metal mesh,
of a gauge which will stop the arrows, very close to the webcam. I
haven't tried this, but unless the webcam has an incrediby short focus
lens, the mesh will be very much out of focus, and should only result
in a slight blurring of the image, which as it's from a web cam, won't
be all that wonderful in the first place. This of course will only work
with Linux compatible webcams.
