[ILUG] Dell Poweredge & raid

[ILUG] Dell Poweredge & raid

Hi Barry,

It depends what RAID solution you get. The 2 port SATA RAID controller
in particular uses
the driver for its functionality (i.e. its not hardware RAID) and so
this won't be supported by
the Linux driver, and software RAID should be used instead.

The SCSI RAID card offered with this machine is known as a PERC 320/DC
and is an Adaptec controller, using
the aacraid driver.

As far as I know, the LSI PERC cards aren't sold with this machine,
which are the ones that use the megaraid(2) driver.

Thanks,
Rafiq
