if it's centos3.4
add the line
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 4)
to /etc/redhat-release
and then EVERYTHING else is the same.
ive succesfuly installed oracle 9iR2 on CentOS so anyone having
trouble i can help.
