If you use apt...

Simple remedy
-------------
i) Make sure you have the following line (or equivalent) in your apt
sources (change the 2 to 3 for FC3):

rpm http://ayo.ie.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/2/i386 core updates freshrpms


ii) perform the following (or equivalent)
apt-get install xmms-mp3

(repeat for aac/wma...)
