Go for the Vespa. An old, quadrophenia-style one. With a very basic set of tools and
the help of www.scooterhelp.com any repair can be made in your own yard, which is not
true for most modern scooters.

btw, just to go on with the OT, my girlfriend (proud vespa owner) is arriving
tonight in Dublin and will be staying there for a couple months, until her english
is refreshed back to a useful level. She's looking for classic students' jobs
(waitress, babysitting, etc); any help will be appreciated. Age 30, fluent in
french and swahili (degree), rusty english, italian mother language.
