[ILUG] introduction to programming

[ILUG] introduction to programming

After quite a few frustrating years trying to teach students to
program *anything* the best advice I can give you is to give them a
project to do that interests them. The actual programming then
becomes almost incidental. Recently bought Beginning Linux
programming (3rd edition) and it seems to be
a reasonably good reference. Also the Perens open source book
Programming with QT 3 is nice (and free to download).
