I don't think this has been discussed recently...
I want to buy a Linux-worthy laptop at a reasonable price without
paying the MS tax. I guess it would be easiest to buy in Ireland, but
Britain or EU could work too.
I'll be using it for programming and sound, so I'll need a Firewire
port for future Firewire sound cards, and I'll need plenty RAM and
CPU, but I'm not that pushed about graphics cards or wireless
connections or battery life.
I'd love to hear any recommendations.
