that's a fascinating form of logic.  let's see where that it takes us.

you have an email address and you received that email.  by your logic
that means that you're ok with it.

there are spam guards on ilug.  and numerous steps are taken to defend
against spam.  spamassassin, greylisting and other means.  those steps
are balanced against the goal of being open and accessible to everyone.
