You remind me of that character played by Sean Bean in the movie "Ronin".
A lot of people use programs and OSes because they work and allow them
to do what they have to do. It is not a question of having an emotional
attachment to an OS. Getting the job done in the most efficient manner
is the important thing for most of us. You don't have to like it, you
just have to do it. If it takes a Microsoft program or OS to do it, then
that's the way it is. You choose the tools for the job rather than the
job for the tools.
Watch out you don't get ambushed by a cup of coffee. :)
