Ghost can only work on static maps, so it won't work for your
programme map.
Your solution is pretty much the nicest way to do it dynamically,
though I'd suggest it might be better to have a script to build a
static file map, rather than as an autofs programme map. You have to
manually initiate link update anyway, so running a script (or running
it regularly from cron) to rebuild (if required) /etc/auto.jukebox
would do just as well. Then --ghost would work, and you'd have no
need for these oddball symlink directores ;).
