Ah.. it might be easier in such a case to hook up the serial port to 
another computer you can ssh to and just install from serial console.

Out of range error? 'sax2'?

That'd be cause Solaris doesn't have virtual consoles. You can 
however install in text-only mode..

Finally, you'd be better asking on the 'osol-help' or 'osol-discuss' 
lists on the opensolaris.org site.
