[ILUG] Solaris

[ILUG] Solaris

Opps! What have I started?

In my defence I would say the following

1. The reason why I posted about the article was simply because Solaris
had been discussed on the list so therefore my post was pertinent to
that thread.
2. The article was published in *LINUX* Format Magazine
3. The reasons the article give in answer to the question Why Try Open
Solaris are
Extend your Unix skills - Solaris is a completely seperate
OS from Linux
Try enterprise-grade features on a (free) home system
Code and test software for compatibility on commercial Solaris
See first-hand the competition that the Linux community is
facing

Im not entirely sure that I would agree that the reasons in (3) fit
easily within a Linux forum but I would think that out of curiousity or
interest keeping an eye on Solaris is justified.
