Yip this allowed me install the fedora-relase but when I tried the yum
-y upgrade I got the following error
Package initscripts needs kernel < 2.16.12 this is not available
Package kudzu needs kernel < 2.6.13 this is not available
Im thinking that initscripts and kudzu are amongst the first files to be
upgraded??
Soooooooo....... I tried yum update kernel and this gives the following
errors.

Now im wondering if there is
1. a way round the yum -y upgrade problem to get past initscripts and kudzu
2. Are the dependancy errors in yum update kernel a result of the rpm -e
yum-fedorafaq-4 or would it be worthwhile trying to fix the dependancies
by hand.
From Googling it would look like the update from FC4 to FC5 should be
only be done AFTER the kernel in FC4 is fuly up to date.
I really thought the system was bang up to date with FC4 as even the
up2date monitor is showing a blue tick and im pretty sure I had ran the
yum update a day or so ago.
I realise that reinstalling FC from DVD and ensuring it is up to date
then trying the upgrade to FC5 is probably the most logicial thing to do
now but this is a learning exercise and im interested to see if I can
get this to work. Note that the system (suprisingly) appears to be
running fine at the minute as it sits.
